DAW Fantasy
Today I started reading C.S. Friedman’s “Black Sun Rising,” which is published by DAW Fantasy and I have to say that I’ve never seen this many typos in one single book. On the first 64 pages I found at least 5 typos and one grammar error - highlights include the misspelling of one of the characters’ names (Damien was written as Damian) and tee instead of tea. Typos are to be expected in a book that’s hundreds of pages long, and I don’t mind seeing a few in a book, but one every nine pages certainly way too much. It makes me wonder if they had a sudden editor shortage before they published the book or if DAW’s editors are simply lousy or lazy.
On the bright side, this edition is from 1994, so there might be a chance that the newer books have less errors…
